Consultant Orthopaedic Hip, Knee & Shoulder Surgeon

Mr. Murphy is a Consultant and Senior Lecturer in Trauma and Orthopaedics with 25 years experience at Consultant level. He provides a personalized service in the treatment of Hip, Knee and Shoulder problems as well as soft tissue injuries and fractures.

Mr. Murphy consults from the out-patient department at The Clementine Churchill Hospital, with all investigations and imaging undertaken on site. The hospital has access to modern equipment, equipped to deal with all routine level 2 trauma and elective orthopaedic surgery. It is backed up by a 24 hour / 365 days per year on-site Consultant run Intensive Treatment Unit (ITU); unexpected emergencies are catered for on site without the need for automatic transfer to an NHS hospital. The hospital also offers free parking and provides free beverages in the waiting area.

With improvement in the current COVID situation we have now restarted operating at the Clementine Churchill and appointments are available for routine and urgent hip/knee and shoulder problems.

We are moving forward with robotic knee surgery and this is now the routine choice rather than non-robotic surgery as the early promises of better resultss seem to be true in normal practice.
